Here at the Ecovillage we truly believe in “Being the change you wish to see
in the world”. With years of experience in organic gardening, farming and
permaculture, the Farm Leader, Michael Hicks, and others, have transformed a
one acre yard in Jasper into a bountiful permaculture garden. During the
2012 season, we will be growing over 200 species of vegetables, fruits,
nuts, herbs, and flowers. We also have run a 3 acre market farm since 2004
out in the rural Indiana countryside.  Currently, the founding members are
in the process of purchasing new Ecovillage land, where we will be expanding
our farm, include more perennial vegetables, orchards, and animals.

Living Roots Ecovillage is an integrated center of organic gardening and
farming, sustainable living, and community. We host garden, sustainable
living, healing arts, and personal/community growth workshops. We also offer
an apprenticeship program centered around gardening and farming and also
including mentoring, personal growth and awareness, and massage, yoga, and
healing arts.

Living Roots CSA is the new name for The Center for Community Empowerment’s
CSA, which provided fresh produce to 67 families in 2011 for both Jasper and
Bloomington. In 2012 we hope to expand to 90 families, so please let your
friends know of this opportunity.

Products are available at Grounded Natural and Organic Foods in Jasper,
Bloomingfoods Downtown, the Jasper Saturday Farmers Market, and the
Bloomington Community Farmers Market on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
